Dr W H Wildgoose

Annual General Meeting
After the main business of the AGM, where I was sentenced to a twenty sixth year as your treasurer (no parole in this job), Dr W H Wildgoose gave a fairly detailed report of his study of swim bladder disorders which concluded I think that there is no guaranteed correct diagnosis of the cause without killing the subject (and even that might not identify the cause) and little in the way of cure - because the causes are so difficult to identify and most are untreatable with medication alone.

Discus World Magazine

Mick Minns - Discus
A real treat in store for the Discus lovers among you. Mick Minns the managing editor of Discus World and a leading lifgt in the UK Discus scene came down to one of our meetings a couple of months ago to check out our venue and facilities and when he talks to us in July he will hasve some Discus on show. He was impressed by the turnout so don't dissappoint him by going on holiday.

Peter Anderson - Furnished Aquariums
Peter is a regular vistor and usually brings us news of the latest technology but this time will be talking about furnished aquariums. I don't know yet whether it is permanent set ups or competition - or even both.
New Speakers Finding speakers is always a problem and our Programme Secretary, Roger Saltrick who isn't doing so bad really, would be pleased to hear from anyone who gives talks to Aquarium Societies and who hasn't yet been to Ilford.
